LIBRARY CIRCULATION

Our Circulation Department is located on the first floor of the library. There, you can check out materials and pick up items on hold. Self checkout is located next to the circulation desk. Holds may be picked up from the bookshelf across from the desk. DVD holds are kept behind the circulation desk.

Registration:

Registration for all types of library cards will be taken at the circulation desk. For more information on how to obtain a library card, click here.

  • Items may be checked out as follows:

    New Audiobooks: 14 days with No Limits

    Regular Audiobooks: 21 days with No Limits

    New Books: 14 days with No Limits

    Regular Books: 21 days with No Limits

    Magazines (New issues cannot be checked out): 21 days with 10 per patron limit

    New DVDs: 7 days with 10 per patron limit

    Regular DVDs: 7 days with 10 per patron limit

    Wi-Fi Hotspot (See checkout limitations): 7 days with 1 per household, per 30 day limit

  • Materials that are lost or damaged should be reported promptly to the library. For materials that are lost, a replacement fee as well as a processing fee of $10 can be charged to the account. If an item is returned to the library damaged, a fee also may be charged.

  • Items that are overdue should be promptly returned to the library. Fines are assigned to the patron’s card and may prevent the patron from checking out further materials until fines are paid.

    Overdue charges are as follows:

    Books, Audiobooks, Magazines, & DVDs: $.25 per item, per day

    Wi-Fi Hotspot: $5.00 per day, $5.00 if not fully charged

  • Renewing materials are as follows. You can also refer to checking out library items for more information.

    New books and audiobooks can be checked out for (2) weeks with (1) renewal.

    Regular books and audiobooks can be checked out for (3) weeks with (2) renewals.

    New DVDs can be checked out for (1) week with NO renewals.

    Regular DVDs can be checked out for (1) week with (1) renewal.​

    Eligible items will be renewed automatically on their due date. Items not eligible for Auto-Renewal will have a Hold for another patron OR the maximum amount of item renewals has been met. If you’ve given us your email address, you’ll be notified when your items are renewed. You’ll also be notified of what items successfully renewed.

  • Danville residents may put a materials request for an item not published, as well as a book or DVD that we may not have. You may also use our Evergreen catalog to place a hold on an item. While your requested items come in, you will be notified by phone, text, or email. Patrons have 7 days to pick up items on reserve. Reserved hotspots will be held for 2 days. For more information on reserves, please contact the Circulation Department.

  • All items checked out at the Danville-Center Township Public Library should be returned promptly to the library. For your convenience we have a small drop box inside, near the circulation desk, during open hours. For after-hours, materials may be returned in the drop boxes located on the North side of the library, near the new entrance doors. Drop boxes are open 24 hours a day for your convenience. All items are due by the library’s closing time of the due date.
