The Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Library (FOL) was founded to support the Danville Public Library in various ways. They sponsor programs and help buy equipment through membership dues and fundraising activities such as used book sales.

There are several membership categories and benefits include Book Bucks, which can be used to buy a free book from the used book sales or to pay an overdue fine (up to $1).

Membership Cost
Heart of Gold Life Member $300
Life Member $150
Business/Organization $50 per year
Family $20 per year
Individual $10 per year
Senior/Student $5 per year

The Friends of the Library are selling canvas tote bags for $5. The bags are washable and are perfect for carrying your purchases. The bags can be purchased at the library’s circulation desk.

Join us at the Coffee Klatch 2nd Wednesday of each month at 10AM.

The term coffee klatch comes from an old German word kaffeeklatsch which means an informal social gathering for coffee and conversation. The Friends of the Library’s Coffee Klatch is held on the second Wednesday each month at 10AM to noon. We meet in the DPL program room. Along with the interesting conversation, the volunteers work on various projects for FOL and the library.
