Getting Started with Genealogy

Trying to find your roots?

Not sure where to start? Then please attend “Family History Research 101” on Saturday, July 11th from 9:30 am until 11:30 am.
This program is for the person just starting their family history search. Click here to register!

Can’t make it to this program? No worries!

The Indiana Room at the Danville Public Library is staffed Monday through Saturday with a person ready to help you with your research. We will work with you to help you use the databases we subscribe to for our patrons. Our databases are: Ancestry, Fold3, Heritage Quest, and Newspaper Archive. You must use these databases in the library.

If you are new to genealogy, we will work with you in a one-on-one situation to get you started on your genealogy search.

Are you trying to break through a brick wall? We will give you suggestions for how to get over the wall and continue your research for more generations.

Keep in mind that genealogy is an addictive hobby!

Questions? Please call us 317-745-2604 and ask for the Indiana Room.
