Hendricks County’s Bicentennial Time Capsule

Donation deadline extended to November 21, 2016

Hendricks County’s Bicentennial Time Capsule has been designated an Indiana Bicentennial Legacy Project. The time capsule celebrating Hendricks County in Indiana’s Bicentennial will be placed in the Hendricks County Government Center. The capsule will be dedicated in December 2016 and is slated to be opened during Indiana’s Tricentennial in 2116. Hendricks County’s Bicentennial Time Capsule is sponsored by Hendricks Regional Health.

Would you like to send a message to the future? There is still time to donate to the Time Capsule. The deadline has been extended to November 21, 2016. The time capsule contents are intended to be a celebration of the people and places of Hendricks County and we need your help. If you could communicate to the citizens of Hendricks County one hundred years from now, what would you say? Show them what your town looks like in 2016? Send them best wishes for their lives? Tell them about your organization and its members? Offer a prediction for life in 2116? Share a piece of memorabilia from the Bicentennial? Please provide us with such things as letters, photographs and memorabilia to be included in the time capsule.

Items may be dropped off at Avon, Brownsburg, Clayton, Danville, or Plainfield Public Libraries or the Northwest Hendricks Schools corporate office. A brochure is available with instructions about the donations. Each donation must be accompanied by a donation information sheet. Both are available at the libraries and school office or below.
