Danville Library Foundation
The Foundation supports the Danville-Center Township Public Library through advocacy and fundraising. Every dollar raised helps provide programs, materials, equipment, and resources beyond the library’s operating budget, promoting literacy, enriching lives, and strengthening our community.
How can you help Indiana libraries?
Support the library
-
Use your library card regularly. Reach out to friends, family, and neighbors to encourage them to get a library card too!
-
Contact your representatives and ask them to support public libraries. Visit iga.in.gov/information/find-legislators to find your local representatives.
-
Share your DPL story. Tell us why DPL matters to you or how the library has made a difference in your life. These stories are powerful tools in our advocacy efforts. Email csalenda@dplindiana.org to schedule a time to share your story.
-
Attend DPL fundraising events. Keep an eye out for upcoming events!
-
Follow @dplindiana and @dplfoundation on social media to stay up-to-date on upcoming events, programs, and news.
-
Donate to the Foundation. Every dollar helps - whether you offer a one-time donation or set up a monthly contribution. Just $10/month can help pay for a child to attend storytime.
History of the Foundation
The Friends of the Danville Library was established to support and advocate for the library through volunteer efforts, fundraising, and community engagement. In 2025, the organization adopted new bylaws to do business as the Danville Library Foundation, continuing under the same 501(c)(3) designation. Transitioning from a membership-based group to a fundraising organization, the Foundation now focuses on cultivating corporate sponsorships, individual gifts, and organizing fundraising events that advance the mission and vision of the library.
